Albania Slashes Interests Rate

Tirana, Jan. 28, 2008 (AE) – The Bank of Albania decided on Wednesday to slash its base interest rate by 0.5 per cent, after weeks of heavy pressure from banks and media. REPO interest rate is now 5.75 per cent.

Albania Inflation Slumps in December

Tirana, Jan. 8, 2008 (AE) –Albania’s consumer price index, CPI, stood at 2.2 per cent in December 2008, one of the lowest yearly inflation in years,the National Statistical Institute INSTAT said on Thursday in a press release.
