Eastern Albania was hit by a 5.4 magnitude earthquake on Sunday, with the epicenter recorded close to the village of Libolesh, close to the mining town of Bulqiza, near the border with Macedonia.
The quake was felt also in the capital Tirana and as far as the port town of Durres. There were no immediate reports of victims or damages.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre the quake was registered at 11.49 pm, at two kilometers of depth.
Earthquakes up to 5.4 magnitude on the Richter scale, are considered as moderate quakes, often causing only minor damages.
Around the world over 30,000 of them are registered every year.
