Kosovo Pension Fund Shrinks Into Negative

prsitina1Tirana, Jan. 5, 2008 (AE) – Kosovo Pension Savings Trust, (Trusti) reported 16.7 per cent decrease in value of its investment fund for the third quarter 2008, as the result of Global Financial Crisis, the CEO of “Trusti” Adrian Zalli, said in a press release.

Our investment portfolio decreased by 49 million euro till Sept. 30, while the negative tendency continued in October”, – he added.

Local media in Pristina anounced that total decrease for 2008 was more than 100 million Euro, almost one third of total assets managed from the Trust. This data is not yet confirmed.

“Trusti” has been established in 2002 to administer and manage mandatory (and voluntary) pension contributions of Kosova’s employees. As for Sept. 30, 2008, “Trusti” assets were 278 million Euro. Almost 90% of its assets are invested in the international market.
