Nine deaths and 296 injured in military warehouse explosion in Albania
Tirana, 16 March 2008 – AENews – 15.30 – Explosions continued for twenty hours in the village of Gerdec, some 20 km east of Tirana, while the government continues to report about new victims and damages.
Five thousand metric tons of artillery ammunitions in the explosion spot
Tirana, 15 March 2008 – AENews – 17.30 – Representatives of the company responsible for the dismantling of ammunitions said that more than five thousand metric tons of artillery rockets were in the spot at the moment of the explosions.
