Minister Berisha and Minister of Economy Genc Ruli have accepted that the
country is undergoing a complete electricity crisis and that power shortages
are destined to continue.

"In the winter, the situation will be
worst because the country will not be able to produce the entire energy needed,
nor will it be able to import it", Mr. Ruli said. Prime Minister Sali Berisha told parliament today that
the crisis is caused due to the fact that imports are practically impossible.
Currently, Albanians suffer power cuts averaging
five hours during the day in urban areas and up to 12 hours in rural areas.
