Government faced with important changes
Tirana, 27 Feb. 2007
(AENews) – Prime Minister Sali Berisha announced important changes for his government
and for the Democratic Party aimed at “strengthening efforts for further reforms in the
country”.
These changes follow the lose during the last local
elections where the ruling coalition was unsuccessful in eight out of 11 main cities
in the country.
According to these plans, members of the incumbent government
will have to choose between their post as a minister or their post in the ruling
Democratic Party.
The media has commented such a move as a Machiavelli’s style whose
aim is to hush down any critics within Berisha's party. “DP officials will now have
to focus on saving their post before even thinking about bringing changes in
Berisha’s politics”, ABC daily noted.
