Slovenian Telekom buys Kosovo’s Ipko Net
Pristine, June 5 (AENews) – Slovenian Telekom buys biggest Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Kosovo, Ipko Net, just two months after the company became owner of Macedonian provider On.Net.
The Slovenian company had paid EUR 19.5 million to take over 75 % of shares of the Kosovo’s leader provider, according to Pristine media.
In the coming two years EUR 10 million of this amount will be invested in infrastructure improvement, Ipko Net’s provider head officers said.
Biggest Kosova provider has more than 100 employees and provides its service to about 80 percent of the populated territory in Kosova.
The Slovenian Telekom deal came two months after the company had successfully bought the second biggest ISP in Macedonia On.Net, which possessed 40 percent of market share in the country.
For 76 percent of On.Net shares, Slovenian Telecom paid EUR 4.7 million, plus EUR 1 million for infrastructure improvements.
For 2005, Slovenian Telecom reported incomes results with a 55 percent increase. The company is one of the biggest in Slovenia as well as the region.
