Belle Air starts regular flights

Tirana, Feb. 1 (AENews) – A new low cost Albanian airline company, Belle Air, is to start regular flights this week to several destinations in Italy. Belle Air will become the 14-th airline company flying out of the “Mother Teresa” International Airport.

The first route is planned to connect Albania’s “Mother Teresa” International
Airport with the Italian “Orio al
Serio” local airport, which is about 5 miles off of Bergamo
in northern Italy.
During this start-up period the company will offer only twice a week flights to
this destination.

The airline had planned to commence its activity back in
December of 2005, however flights were delayed for a few months due to several
security procedures that the company had to undergo before it could commence
with the regular activity.

Company officials have declared that their airfares will be
as low as EUR 19, excluding airport taxes, however might apply even lower fares
during this start-up period, officials explained.

Future destinations include Ancona,
Trieste, Forli
near Bologna, Bergamo,
Verona, Genova,
and Pisa. Meanwhile, long term destination plans are for Athens
and Istanbul
also.
