Albania’s loans portfolio grew to LEK110 bn (EUR895 mln, US$1bn), Central Bank report

Tirana, Jan. 16 (AENews) – Loans portfolio of commercial banks reached LEK110 bn in October, or 57 % y-o-y compared to end of 2004, Central Bank announced in its latest monthly report.

According to this latest report, end of 2004 loans portfolio was reported at LEK70 bn.

In October loans portfolio grew by LEK4 bn. During the last 10 months, ending in October, loans grew at an average of LEK 3 BN per month. In October loans portfolio was at 13.2 % of GDP.

Average interest rate for LEK denominated loans was at 14.04%, or 0.52% higher then September.
