Albanian Competition Authority starts formal investigation over mobile market
Tirana, Sep. 26 (AENews) – Last week the Albanian Competition
Authority started a formal investigation over competition conduct of
the two sole mobile operators in the country, Vodafone Albania and AMC
Albania.
Global Petroleum shipment blocked by customs
Tirana, Sep. 23 (AENews) – The Albanian branch of Hellenic
Petroleum, Global Petroleum, was second in the size of debts owed to
the Durres customs. Officials from the customs claim that the company
has total unpaid duties estimated at USD 800,000.
Oil producer Olim fined USD 3 million
Tirana, Sep. 21 (AENews) – General Director of Olim, Arian Mene,
declared late Tuesday night that his company was charged with “a huge
fine of USD 3 million”.

Tirana, September 14 (AENews) – Director General of the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH), Fatmir Hoxha, declared recently that he had received a study by Lahmeyer International, a German consulting company, proposing the split up of the corporation into smaller companies to its further privatization.
Construction investments locked by territorial planning
Tirana, September 13 (AENews) – Construction industry investments fell by 55 % in 2004, latest Ministry of Finances’ annual report showed. Such a sharp fall was manly due the lower number of projects approved by authorities, according to the same report.

AMC Albania buys bonds from Cosmote to escape dividend taxation and dividend distribution

corporate bonds, which its majority shareholder Cosmote is expected to
issue, Cosmote in Athens announced today.
