AMC Albania announced 15.6% rise in H1 financial results

Tirana, Aug. 25 (AENews) – Today, the leading mobile communications company, AMC announced a 15.6% rise in revenues and a 25% rise in Net Income, according to a press release by AMC’s main shareholder Cosmote.

Revenues for the first two quarters, ending in June 31, were estimated at eur64.1 million. During the same period AMC’s estimated capital expenditures were reported at eur4.2 million, 12% of Cosmote group Capex.

AMC Albania’s Net Income margin was estimated at 31.2% of revenues, which is higher then Cosmote’s in Greece which in HY 2005 had a Net Income margin of 20.4%.

AMC Albania accounts for 8.1% of Cosmote’s total revenues, 12.6% of its net income and 17 % of all its customers.

At the end of 2004 AMC customers were estimated at 638,728 which is a considerable growth compared to 2005 current estimates reported at 730,000 customers.

In 1995 AMC was the first and the only state owned mobile operator in Albania. Then in August of 2000, 85% the company was sold for US$ 85.6 million, however the price was corrected again later.
