Alumil Albania inaugurates EUR11 million unit for integrated aluminium products

Tirana, May 31 (AENews) – Alumil Albania, 100% owned by the Greek aluminium processing group Alumil Mylonas, inaugurated recently a EUR11 million investment unit for the production of integrated-aluminium products in Tirana, Albania. The new industrial complex is the first aluminium-profiles-investment in the country.

Alumil Albania’s complex was build mainly in response to the growing local market needs now demanding quality integrated aluminium systems for specific needs, according to company release.

Such investments by the group are underpinned by the prospect of capitalizing on all significant advantages the area and the market can offer, the release said.

The complex has a new 6,000 profiles tones-per-annum production capacity and a 6,000 tones horizontal powder coating facility.

The site was set up in a record time of approximately 17 months, currently employing more than 100 people.

Alumil Albania covers the markets of Kosova and Montenegro, currently exporting 20 % of its production. Sales predictions are anticipated to grow to more than 100 % within 2005. Alumil Albania currently exploits warehouses in Saranda, Gjirokaster, Shkoder, Elbasan and Fier.

Albania Alumil’s parent company was founded in 1988 and since 1998 is listed in the Athens Stock Exchange. Included four times in GrowthPlus’ Europe’s 500, Alumil’s Group sales exceeded EUR179 million in 2004, while EBITDA and net profits (before taxes and minority interests) exceeded EUR 29 million and EUR10 million respectively.
