The Albanian television industry is over invested and all TV stations are in a full-blown war of competition.
Last year, one of the major TV stations in Albania commenced paid TV service. Top Channel invested in the first terrestrial digital system and soon started offering paid TV satellite service. Their main rivals, Klan TV, also started a paid TV satellite service named Sat +.
Albanian televisions are now investing in technologies and services to try and exploit the international market where emigrants live and work, as well as the regional market, since the domestic market is relatively poor.
