Darfo plans to buy the chrome of smaller companies
Business Thursday, March 31st, 2005Tirana, March 31 (AENews) – The Albanian unit of the Italian copper smelter Darfo plans to buy about 60 million tons chrome minerals from smaller private businesses operating in this sector, said sources from the company.
Such a move is in keeping the company’s plans to double its production levels within a three year period. 60,000 tons of chrome minerals make up about 35 percent of the total chrome production by small businesses in this sector. Currently there are 110 business and companies operating in the mining of chrome minerals.
