Albanian automotive dealer gross revenue reached EUR 31 million

Tirana, March 14 (AENews) – During 2004 Albanian automotive dealers increased their gross revenue to around EUR31 million, according an estimation by “Biznesi” daily in Tirana.

In 2004 the total number of imported new cars was 1550, out of which 1060 were imported by authorized automotive dealers, according to data from Albanian customs authorities.
2004 marked an increase of 21 % for cars imported by authorized dealers compared to 2003 when dealers imported only 900 new cars.
Classic Volkswagen, the Albanian representative of the German car producer, imported 430 vehicles, 38 % of the total cars imported by dealers. The most sold brands were Volkswagen Touareg and Polo, priced at EUR11,000 to EUR15,000 per car.
Opel Noshi, the Opel representative imported 195 new cars. Also, Artinel ’95, which represents Kia motors of South Korea imported 90 new cars.
Fiat imported 80 new cars, out of which the most imported brand was Doblo. Two new car sellers, Albanian Motor Company, representative of Ford, and HL group, representative of BMW, imported 75  and 18 new cars respectively.
Representative of DaimlerChrysler, ASA, imported 50 new cars.
Total imports of vehicles and tractors in Albania during 2004 reached about EUR110 million. Currently more then 200 thousand vehicles circulate in Albania.
