Tirana, 1 November 2007 (ANEnews) - The Governor of the Bank of Albania Ardian Fullani warned yesterday that the increase of prices will continue. He also announced at a meeting of the Bank Board to discuss the report for the third semester of 2007 that the interest rate would be further raised, because the stability of prices in the market is seriously endangered. However, the Board decided to keep the interest rate at 6 per cent for the moment. Fullani said that the electricity crisis was increasing the business costs.

Tirana, July 4, 2007 (AENews) – Bank of Albania is expected to approve the acquisition of Banka Popullore by Societe Generale in the next coming weeks. Societe Generale has acquired 75% shares for an undeclared amount from a consortium of local businessmen whom founded the bank three years ago.
